The Our Voices section highlights important ideas and themes within SNCC’s history and presents them in the voices of the activists themselves. Each page is authored by an individual SNCC activist or by multiple activists in conversation with each other.
These pages bring to the forefront themes that are woven throughout SNCC’s organizing work and trace how ideas in SNCC evolved over time, such as how SNCC grew into an organization of organizers or moved from literacy work to adult education for the purpose of empowerment. In each, SNCC activists selected a theme that they saw as central to the Movement and lay out its importance using narrative, audiovisual materials, and documents.
